During the summer, I have gotten some time to breathe and relax. One of my favorite pastimes is baking so I tried to make some brownies in India with my mom. As I was making the batter, I forgot that I did not have chocolate. We went to the store to get chocolate and I had properly made the batter. Though I was tempted to eat the batter in between I had baked the brownies and they smelled great. As I put one in my mouth, I realized I wanted to post this recipe. So, this is one of my favorite brownies and I hope you guys make them.
Ingredients:
- 8 oz of chocolate
- 1¼ cups sugar
- ¾ cup all-purpose flour
- ¼ cup cocoa powder
- 2 teaspoons salt
- 4 teaspoons baking powder
- ¾ cup melted butter
- 4 tablespoons water
- 2 teaspoon vegetable oil
- 2 teaspoons vanilla extract
Recipe:
- Preheat the oven to 350 degrees Fahrenheit. Line an 8-inch square baking dish with parchment paper.
- Chop the chocolate into chunks. Melt half of the chocolate in the microwave for 20 seconds at a time by mixing, save the other half for later.
- In a large bowl, mix the butter and sugar until incorporated and then mix in the vegetable oil, water, baking powder, and vanilla for 1-2 minutes, until the mixture becomes fluffy and light in color.
- Whisk in the melted chocolate, then sift in the flour, cocoa powder, and salt. Fold to incorporate the dry ingredients, and do not overmix.
- Fold in the chocolate chunks, then transfer the batter to the prepared baking dish.
- Bake for 20-25 minutes, depending on how fudgy you like your brownies, then cool completely.
