What a new perspective this story gave me! Often, I realize that the day is over and am left scratching my head wondering where did the time go. It always feels as though I did not play enough video games or basketball, or that I missed going to see my friends. Yet it is midnight on Sunday night, and I am still doing my homework. In this way, weekends are not fun. and it’s not fair that they go so fast for me—I am just a kid.
This story gave me such a fresh perspective about how precious time is to me. I need to start accounting for it as carefully as I would money, and the results will be different. Now my plan is that every Friday night before the weekend starts, I make a Game Plan on what all I will do and finish. I have been doing this for 2 weeks and must say that weekends are now a lot more fun! Not only am I getting done with all my homework, but I’m also getting time to do all the things that I love doing. I still scratch my head and say, “Where was this time earlier? How did the time increase, did the days get longer?” But I believe that just the simple accounting of time has helped me pace better.
You may want to try this—it surely did wonders for me.
